Directions for use:


  1. Select the appropriate coarse aggregate size from the tabs below. (sizes based of ASTM C33 Specifications)
  2. Nominal coarse aggregate sizes for the particular tab selected will show up under the individual titles.
  3. All white cells are input cells- start by typing your name if printing is desired.
  4. Perform the coarse aggregate gradation/sieve analysis according to ASTM C136.
  5. Enter the original mass of the sample.
  6. Enter the individual weights retained in grams for each individual sieve and the pan.
  7. The individual % of grams retained, cumulative % retained & cumulative % passing will be calculated.
  8. The ASTM C33 specifications for the individual stone selected will be listed to the right.  The “IN SPEC?” column will read “OK” if the material on that particular sieve is in specification.  If it is out of specification, it will read “NG” for “NO GOOD”.
  9. The % of material loss will be calculated at the bottom.
  10. The #9 size has been filled out as an example.
